Information about Second Opinion Outpatient

The purpose of the Second Opinion Outpatient is for our specialists to provide advice on medical care and treatment content based on information from the family physician for patients who are being treated by an insurance medical institution (family physician) other than the Saitama Medical Center and to help patients choose their own treatment policy.

Patients who are considering using Second Opinion Outpatient should understand the information about each section and then submit an application. (Reservation only system)

Regarding consultations

(1) Those who can consult

In principle, the patient themselves. However, it is possible to consult with only a family member, limited to the case where they bring in a consent form from the patient, for example, in the case that the patient cannot come to the hospital due to unavoidable circumstances.

(3) Consulting physicians

The outpatient physician, professor, associate professor, instructor from the relevant department or the doctor identified by the family physician will be in charge. If the consulting physician is not specified, they will be selected from the appropriate medical department.

(4) Consultation date and time

We will determine this in coordination with the consulting physician.

(5) Consultation content

The contents of the consultation will be limited to the diagnosis and treatment. It is only a consultation, and there will be no treatment performed.

Note: Examples of cases where consultations will not be accepted are as follows:

If you wish to be treated in our hospital.
Dissatisfaction with a family physician, medical malpractice and consultations during litigation
Consultation about the details of medical expenses and medical benefits
For the purpose of evaluating the details of a treatment after said treatment
If your doctor does not understand
If you do not have the necessary materials for the consultation (such as patient referral documents, X-ray images, examination data) ready in advance (can be mailed)
If the content of the consultation is outside the specialty of our clinic

(6) Materials necessary for consultation

In order to provide a valid second opinion, please be sure to bring the information and examination materials from your family doctor (at the same time as the application). (Can be mailed)

Patient referral documents
X-ray images
Results such as examination records, ultrasound tests and pathological tests, images and specimens (depending on the case).

(7) Cost of consultation

The fee is JPY 10,000 per 30 minutes (tax not included). It is not covered by health insurance.
