Intractable Disease Support Counseling Office

Introduction
The Intractable Disease Support Counseling Office at the Saitama Medical Center was established with the purpose of promoting the support of patients in the region, for patients with intractable diseases, living in the community and their families through attentive consultation and support in order to meet the various needs of patients, in addition to reducing their worries and anxieties in everyday life.
Patient care at our department
Regarding operation of the Intractable Disease Support Counseling Office
- Appropriate guidance and support for patients ' phone calls, interviews, and hospital admission/transfer consultations
- Support for patient gatherings which the patient voluntarily implements
- Acceptance of respite care at the center
- Network cooperation with Saitama Prefecture's specialty hospital for intractable diseases and cooperating hospitals to promote support for patients in the community.
- Cooperate with related organizations such as public employment security office, to provide consultation and assistance for work, and to provide information.
- Support for seminars for medical professionals and lectures for patients.
- Support for genetic counseling and genetic testing for patients and their families related to hereditary intractable diseases (in cooperation with the center's Genetic Counseling Office)

We do not accept any counseling over the phone.

Also, please note that depending on the details of the consultation, there may be a case where we direct you to an outpatient visit, we are not able to accept you at our clinic, or we may recommend you to a more specialized facility.
