Department of Rehabilitation medicine

October 21,2024 Update

Introduction

Opened in 1985, our department's primary goal is to facilitate the earliest possible return of patients to their home, school, or work. We achieve this through comprehensive inpatient support and early rehabilitative mobilization, always focusing on the individual's characteristics, abilities, living environment, and daily activities.

Our core strength is our commitment to scientific evidence, driving us to continually refine treatments and use advanced equipment for optimal functional recovery. Our outpatient services specialize in treating spasticity, cognitive impairment, and developmental issues like motor and language delays in children. Given the context of Japan's rapidly aging society, another core mission is to actively practice preventive medicine within this community, particularly by targeting conditions like dementia and frailty. This comprehensive approach is seen as crucial for extending the Healthy Life Expectancy (HLE) and maintaining good health without limitations in daily life.
