May 9,2023 Update
The Department of Otolaryngology provides a wide range of treatments for the head and neck areas, from the ear, nose, and throat (pharynx, larynx) to salivary glands (parotid glands, submandibular glands) and thyroid.
In the case of chronic otitis media and chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma, tympanoplasty is performed, and insertion of a ventilation tube is performed for exudative otitis media. For those with bilateral advanced hearing loss, a cochlear implantation is performed, and hearing aid outpatient is conducted every Tuesday afternoon for those who have mild to moderate hearing loss and use a hearing aid. In addition, drug therapy is mainly performed with adrenocortical steroids for sudden deafness and facial paralysis. In addition to drug therapy for cochlear dizziness, we also conduct physical therapy for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and an endolymphatic sac shunt surgery for intractable Meniere's disease.
For hay fever and year-round allergic rhinitis, we also provide laser surgery (day surgery) which is effective for nasal congestion, and sublingual immunotherapy focusing on fundamental improvement of the physical constitution. Because the sinus surgery uses endoscopic treatment for chronic sinusitis, the pain is greatly reduced, and there is no swelling of the face compared with the old sinus surgery. In addition, it is now possible to safely perform a relatively difficult frontal sinus surgery with the introduction of the navigation system.
We perform adenoid resection or tonsillectomy for adenoid hyperplasia, chronic tonsillitis, and sleep apnea syndrome associated with tonsillar hypertrophy, and vocal cord polyps excision is performed using microscopes for vocal cord polyps.
Among the tumors of the head and neck, we are actively performing surgery for the nose, throat, parotid, mandibular glands and benign tumors of the thyroid gland. Radio therapy is carried out in the outpatient clinic in the case of early cancer of the larynx, but in cases of progressive nasal and throat cancers, we have been conducting examinations and treatment in cooperation with the Head and Neck Oncology Department of the International Medical Center.
With the advancement of medical care, we have entered an era where we can provide a variety of treatment methods, and we would like to promote medical care that fully considers the needs of patients.

In our department, the ear area department, we perform a series of surgeries and treatments such as tympanoplasty, stapes surgery, and choclear implantation, and we perform uniform treatment along the medical path for such as sudden hearing loss, Meniere's disease, and facial nerve palsy. In the nose area for chronic sinusitis and inverted papilloma, we mainly perform endoscopic nasal sinus surgery I-V type and endoscopic surgery such as EMMM. The navigation system is fully equipped to reduce complications. In the oral cavity and laryngopharynx area, we mainly focus on typical treatments. We mainly operate on cervical tumors that are benign, and in the case of advanced cancers, we work with the Department of Head and Neck Oncology of the Saitama Medical University International Medical Center to perform examinations and treatment.
Our department respects the intentions of each physician and we nurture physicians with knowledge, technology and sociality, and I think we have a work environment that is balanced between clinical, educational and research. In addition, we have established a good working environment for women doctors who want to have a family and work
The general outpatient clinic is open from 8:30 am to 11:00 am from Mon. to Sat., so please explain this to the patient. We would appreciate if you contact the department by phone when there is a referral outside of the above hours.
When you refer someone, it will reduce the burden on the patient if they bring the referral letter. Thank you for your cooperation. If you refer to us, please attach the allergy test results, hearing test results, and copies of images.
Since the specialist outpatient clinic system is by reservation only, please refer them to general outpatient first, even if you want them to visit a specialist outpatient clinic. Please understand that the outpatient doctor will make a reservation for the specialist outpatient.
The emergency outpatient clinic is currently only available on the weekdays of Wed. and Fri., and we participate in the Saitama Prefecture ENT Emergency Outpatient Clinic on holidays. First, we ask you to visit the first emergency hospital.
Our department accepts tours and training for medical students, junior residents and senior residents at any time. Also, we will consult, including how to work with doctors who wish to enter our department, so please feel free to contact us by email.
