The disease, prognosis, medical content and treatment policies are all disclosed in principle. The person, family, guardian, etc., should please ask questions until they are satisfied. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to consult about an opinion from another hospital.

Treatment policies

The treatment of cancer in our department is in accordance with the treatment guidelines. In order to improve the treatment results, we also incorporate the latest advanced treatments. In particular, there are areas where treatment, such as surgical procedures and drug selection has not been established, even today, such as treatment of serious illnesses in pregnant women and cancer treatments. In addition, even if a drug used is recognized in Europe and the United States, it may not yet be approved by the Japan insurance system. You can also receive treatment that is at the research stage or is a proven treatment abroad, but please compare it with conventional treatments and treatments that are considered to be best at the moment (standard treatments). Please make your own decisions about which treatment you would like to receive with your doctor after you fully understand it. We focus not only on disease treatment, but also mental care and support. A full-time clinical psychologist is employed in the Center for Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, and the fertility treatments & gynecological oncology division. Compliance with medical regulations and hope

In outpatient and inpatient care, there are rules and instructions that must be observed. These may have a significant effect on the treatment and healing process, so please observe them. Also, please feel free to contact us if you would hope for any remedy or transfusion. Please let us know in advance if there are any acts or treatments that cannot be received for reasons such as religion or belief. We will perform the treatments based on the medical agreement. Please let us know if you would prefer a female doctor. We will try to accommodate your wishes as much as possible.

Education

The University Hospital is responsible for the education of physicians, trainees, medical students and nursing students. The training and the practice are done both outpatient and in the wards. We appreciate your cooperation in understanding our mission as an educational institution. If you do not wish their attendance, please do not hesitate to contact your doctor at that time. Please be assured that there will be no disadvantages in any medical treatment.

Duty to report

In the Center for Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, we store and analyze information on medical care for patients and newborns in order to help improve the management and treatment of pregnant women and the prognosis of newborns in the future. We also have a duty to report to the Perinatal Committee of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Saitama Prefectural Health and Welfare Department and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Because this is personal information about the mother and the child, we have the names be kept confidential in the annual report. This medical information is strictly managed under the Personal Information Protection Act and will be used for statistical data for the development of perinatal medical care in Japan. Outpatient care including referrals is available in the mornings (Reception: from 8:30am to 11:00am) Mon. to Sat. except on Sun. and public holidays. Furthermore, the gynecological tumor and first time outpatient clinic will be available only to patients who are referred (Tues. and Thurs.). Our department has been performing about 900 cases of various types of obstetrics and gynecology procedures per year, but in recent years we have been actively introducing non-invasive surgery, laparoscopic surgery (for ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cyst surgery, uterine myomectomy, total hysterectomy, etc.) and hysteroscopic surgery. We have been performing around 400 laparoscopic surgeries per year.
We are proud to have the largest number of surgeries in the prefecture, and in recent years, have expanded surgical adaptation of total laparoscopic hysterectomy for large uterus and total laparoscopic hysterectomy for patients with advanced obesity, and we also support difficult cases.

The Gynecological Oncology Division supports the treatment of various gynecological cancers (surgical therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.) such as cervical cancer, uterine body, and ovarian cancer, and in recent years has been actively pursuing laparoscopic uterine malignant tumors resection for early stage uterine body cancer. Our hospital serves as a regional cancer core clinic, but since it is also one of the best general hospitals in the prefecture with several specialized medical departments, we also support gynecological cancer cases with various complications by cooperating with each of the specialized medical departments. In addition, since we have the Center for Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, we have been referred patients with malignant tumors that have been associated with pregnancy from throughout the entire prefecture.
