Plastic surgery is a medical field (basic medical department) that first treats the face, and then systemic diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissues by surgery. Unfortunately, there are not enough hospitals and clinics with this department in Saitama Prefecture, even though there is a population of 7.3 million people.
The face, which is the organ that symbolizes us as human beings, includes the forehead, eyelids, external ear, and the outer nose and lips and is always exposed, and it protects the brain, senses and feeding. The plastic surgeon must not only understand the important structures of the face, but also have sufficient knowledge of the frame, the muscles, and the nerves and the blood vessels which support it. Also, since wounds (scars) can also impair the "morphology and function" of the face after a fresh wound has healed, it is the only specialized department that is familiar with how to heal wounds and aims for a "clean appearance" (esthetic outcome).
Facial illnesses include congenital abnormalities such as cleft lip, blepharoptosis, accessory auricle, and microtia, as well as injuries and burns, benign and malignant tumors, facial fractures, canalis facialis, and postoperative deformations and deficiencies after surgery from other departments. It also supports blepharoptosis and stains/sagging which are age-related dysfunctions. The same treatment techniques used for the face can be applied to abnormalities of the limbs (polysyndactia, skin ulcers, trauma, and tumors) which are likewise exposed.
Plastic surgeons of our department have advanced medical treatment techniques, such as skin transplants, skin flaps and micro surgery, and we perform surgical treatments for breast reconstruction and limb lymphedema. We are one of the most high-volume hospitals in these cases in Saitama Prefecture. In addition, non-operative treatments such as negative pressure closure therapy have been introduced as methods to assist advanced surgery, and treatment with surgery and other treatments is done according to the condition. In other words, we practice "Your Happiness is our Happiness" which prioritizes patient-oriented treatment.
"Wound Care day" was enacted on the 5th of May each year, which is Children's Day or "kid's day" in Japan as the anniversary of the treatment by a plastic surgeon.

The reception time for initial consultation with patients is between
8:30 am and 11:00 am.
In principle, a referral letter is necessary, but we are OK without.
In the case of an emergency, we do initial consultations outside of these hours, but
please be sure to contact us by telephone before you come to the clinic.

In our hospital, we perform all-round plastic surgery in general.

Eyelid Outpatient (first, third and fifth Friday afternoons), Breast reconstruction and formation outpatient (Wednesday afternoons), Lymphedema outpatient (Wednesday afternoons, 2nd and 4th Friday afternoons) are conducted by appointment (please contact the Department of Plastic Surgery outpatient).

Notice of recruitment of senior residents (specialist)
Our department is a core facility for the new specialist training program. It is possible to train for all of the plastic surgery diseases necessary for acquiring a specialty. In addition, training options will be expanded by collaborating with nine other facilities, such as other university hospitals, children's hospitals, and local hospitals.
