Patient care at our department

Outpatient care

In the case of the first visit, you will receive a check up during the reception hours of 9 am to 11 am from Monday to Friday, and then come to the doctor of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in charge of new patients in the emergency clinic. We recommend that you have a referral letter from another medical institution, so that you can go to our clinic smoothly. Even if you have no referral letter, you can see the doctor in charge of a new patient without a referral letter. The doctor in charge of new patients will treat all patients with any digestive disease or with the chief complaint of gastrointestinal symptoms.

The return visit is for the outpatients who need to receive medical care at our department after the first visit or leaving from our hospital where they receive treatment as inpatients. If a highly specialized consultation is required for a revisit outpatient, the doctor in charge may be determined according to the doctor's specialty. The main specialties of outpatient physicians include upper and lower gastrointestinal disorders, functional gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, pancreatico-biliary diseases, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, early colorectal cancer, liver cancer, pancreatico-biliary cancer. You will need to make a reservation after your first visit to our department.

Endoscopic inspection

For endoscopy, you can receive an endoscopic examination immediately on that day if you are consulted in a state when you haven’t eaten. In the case of the lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, prior treatment will be carried out before the day of the examination, but it will even be done on that day if it requires urgency.

Hospitalization

In principle, the date of hospitalization is determined by the doctor in charge of hospitalization through the outpatient clinic. In the case of a referral from another hospital, they will have to visit the outpatient clinic first. If the patients themselves are unable to come to us, the family member or parents, etc. will need to visit the outpatient clinic as their representative. The hospitalization essentially required a reservation, but same day hospitalization will be considered when there is an emergency.

Medical Service Content

Our department is a comprehensive department of gastrointestinal medicine for diseases of all of the digestive organs. Therefore, please refer your patients in the case where digestive diseases are suspected or digestive symptoms are the main complaint.

Regarding outpatient visits to the Department of Gastroenterology

First- time reception is between 9:00 am and 11:00 am from Monday to Friday. If you refer patients to us, please have the patients bring the referral letter and their medical information including the examination data and reports, and the images stored on CD-R, so that the medical service can proceed smoothly.

If a highly specialized consultation is required for a revisit outpatient, the doctor in charge may be determined according to the doctor's specialty. The main specialties of outpatient physicians include upper and lower gastrointestinal disorders, functional gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, pancreatico-biliary diseases, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, early colorectal cancer, liver cancer, pancreatico-biliary cancer.

Please refer patients on the day, from Monday to Friday, according to the list of "Medical Staff" and "Outpatient Clinic".

For patients referred to our department, we ask for their continued treatment at the original medical institution as much as possible following the completion of the treatment at our department.
