Introduction
At the Department of Pharmacy Saitama Medical Center, we are constantly striving in various ways to realize Saitama Medical University basic philosophy of "Eternal Love & Care for All" and live up to our motto: "Your HAPPINESS Is Our HAPPINESS".
- Team medical care: As pharmacists, we work together with doctors and nurses to provide team medical care (teams for nutritional support, palliative care, etc.).
- In-ward activities: Our pharmacists are present in all wards of the hospital, including the Comprehensive Perinatal Maternal and Child Medical Center and the Advanced Critical Care and Emergency Center. We are engaged in providing patients and their family with information about the medications, as well as providing information to staff and managing medicines.
- Parenteral preparations: Pharmacists work in a clean room facility to prepare aseptic anticancer drugs, total parenteral nutrition, and in-hospital preparations.
- Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM): After measuring blood drug concentrations and performing appropriate analysis, we give advice about proper use of drugs and their dosages to provide safe treatment.
- Drug information activities: The latest drug information is managed effectively, allowing the necessary information to be provided swiftly and accurately in response to both in-hospital and out-of-hospital inquiries.
- Research activities: The results of our research are presented at domestic and international conferences.
- Educational activities: We actively accept pharmaceutical students and trainees.
