September 2,2019 Update
In our hospital, we aim for safe, quality medical treatment that is easy for patients to understand. We have created a "Regional Cooperation Critical Path (Cooperation Path)" for the 5 major cancers (gastric cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and liver cancer) and use it for local medical cooperation.
A "Cooperation Path" is where the hospital (Base Hospital for Cancer Treatment Collaboration) that performs the treatment such as surgery, and the local medical institution (family physician) have the same treatment policy and a "joint medical plan" that was created for the treatment of patients.
We use this "Cooperation Path" to have the same therapeutic policy in the Base Hospital for Cancer Treatment Collaboration and the local hospitals and clinics, and we want to provide safe and high quality medical care.
Patients are asked to bring their medical cooperation handbook (My chart) and use it to understand their own treatment plan.
The "Cooperation Path" is recommended for those who can judge the use of it from the patient's symptoms and desire of treatment. Once the patient or their family have had sufficient consultation and reach an agreement, we can proceed with treatment using the "Cooperation Path." Of course it is perfectly fine if you don't use the "Cooperation Path." You can also stop or suspend it in the middle.
Using the "Cooperation Path" has the following benefits for the patient.
